How much does Outback window tint cost?
The rear glass of an Outback starts at $260 in LLumar ATC dyed film. That covers both rear door windows, the side glass in the cargo area and the liftgate window; ceramic film on the same glass, and the sunroof, are priced separately.
| Outback glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, cargo-area side glass, liftgate | LLumar ATC dyed | $260 |
| The same windows in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Power sunroof | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front doors | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | Any | $200, legal only in the top 75 mm |
What you pay for: genuine LLumar film cut on the plotter to your model year’s pattern, heat-shrunk by hand to each curve, and the lifetime warranty on both the film and the labour. Doing the rear glass and the roof in one visit usually costs less than the two list prices added up, and the window tint price list shows every package.
What glass does a 2026 Outback have from the factory?
Privacy glass behind the front doors, a laminated windshield and a sunroof, on all four Canadian trims. Subaru Canada’s 2026 Outback specifications list privacy tinted glass on the rear and cargo-area windows, a laminated UV-protection windshield, a rear window defogger with timer and a power tilting and sliding sunroof as standard on the Touring, Limited XT, Wilderness and Premier XT.
The seventh-generation body reshaped the back end too. Subaru of America’s 2026 Outback launch release says a steeper rake on the rear glass opens up cargo space, and that a wider roof pillar now sits behind the rear passenger door. Subaru Canada also credits “acoustic glass” for part of the quieter cabin without saying which panes carry it; the answer on tinting acoustic laminated side glass explains what that would mean for film.
Since the back half is already privacy glass, film darkens it further. Subaru publishes no light transmission figure for it, and the two percentages multiply: a 20% film on glass passing 20% leaves roughly 4%. The comparison of film and factory privacy glass explains what each layer does for heat and UV. The defogger lines on the liftgate glass stay under the film, as the answer on tinting over rear defroster lines describes.
How does EyeSight change windshield tint on an Outback?
It makes the windshield the pane to treat most carefully. Subaru says the 2026 Outback’s EyeSight uses three forward-facing cameras and newly added radar sensors, and lists a new wider-angle mono camera among the changes.
Subaru’s rules for that glass go back years. Its service bulletin 06-43-12R, written for 2013 and later Legacy and Outback models with EyeSight, says to cover the stereo camera’s openings with removable tape or plastic wrap before any cleaner or polish touches the inside of the windshield, because residue reaching the lenses “will cause damage and require them to be replaced.” The same bulletin rules out water-repellent windshield coatings inside or out and warns that reflections near the camera can affect it. That bulletin predates the current generation, so read the EyeSight section of your own manual before asking for even a top strip. How other makers handle the same issue is set out in windshield tint and driver-assist cameras.
Can an Outback’s sunroof be tinted?
Yes, and every 2026 Outback has one. Subaru fits a power sunroof that tilts and slides, with a manual sunshade, on all four trims. With the shade open, film on the glass cuts heat and glare from above, and near-clear AIR does it while keeping the view of the sky. The roof is priced on its own; the sunroof and panoramic roof page covers how roof glass is measured and fitted.
Which Outback windows can legally take film in BC?
The rear doors, cargo glass and liftgate, at any shade. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on side windows behind the driver and on the rear window when there are outside mirrors on both sides, which covers the Outback’s rear doors, cargo glass and liftgate.
The front doors are different: no film of any shade is road-legal there, and the windshield is limited to its top 75 mm, where EyeSight’s camera zones also apply. The shop will fit front film on request, but it explains first that it isn’t legal, that a ticket typically costs $109, and that police can order the film removed and the car inspected. The full rule is under tinting front windows in BC.
How do you book Outback tint in Langley?
Send the year and trim, which film you’re leaning towards, and whether you want the sunroof done. A full rear package typically takes two to four hours, and most cars go home the same day. Leave the windows up for three to five days, and expect any light haze to clear within the week. The Outback tint quote form takes the details, or call or text 604 534 6433.
